Problem
Sleep apnea (OSA vs. CSA) is under-diagnosed. Reliable, automatic apnea-event classification from clinical signals could enable earlier intervention.
Approach
Pipeline: bandpass filtering & sliding-window training. A 1D CNN + Transformer in PyTorch models SpO₂, nasal airflow, respiratory & ECG signals across three benchmark datasets.
Key Learning
Physiological signals demand careful preprocessing — windowing, filtering and robust event-level evaluation matter more than model novelty.
